A Forever Family Home

With two street frontages and a beautiful view of Port Noarlunga and out to the sea we were excited to be involved with Ben and Sarah’s project. Their site was quite steep, and not only that, it had an existing home which needed to be demolished. This meant deciding what would work best for the new home required a lot of imagination as the overall levels of the site were quite challenging.

The Owner’s wanted their street face to be Murray Street which was the opposite of the original home, meaning that we had to devise a way to have a useable garage and driveway at the top of the block; this is where the split level design was born. As the views are quite spectacular we needed to keep (and enhance) those where possible as well.

They also wanted a home which had a contemporary feel but also be a comfortable home for their young family. We worked hard on creating a design that achieved both these points while still remaining on budget.

We worked closely with the pool contractor and landscaper to ensure Ben and Sarah had the best outcome in the long run.  

We are very happy with the end product; the overall first impression from the street is stunning, only outclassed by the entrance foyer which is a great start to a beautiful home. Once you head upstairs you appreciate why our clients liked the location and wanted to raise their family there, the views are spectacular. Tall ceilings and high-level windows also give a dramatic effect, while also creating great cross flow ventilation to help cool the home.

If you choose to go down instead of up, you will find yourself in the kid’s hub of the home, which spills out onto an oversized entertaining area overlooking the pool.

Every detail had to be carefully thought out during both the design and construction due to the challenging nature of the site and build. The end result is a stunning family friendly yet sophisticated timeless home.
